In April 2020, Tenderlonious, a flutist, jazz saxophonist, electronic producer, and head of the label 22a, traveled to Pakistan to collaborate with the instrumental quartet Jaubi from Lahore. Following the critically acclaimed release of "Tender in Lahore" in April 2020, as a result of this trip, 22a released an album of improvised ragas recorded in a single day in November.
