Your Hand In Mine
Garden Novels
Inner Ear · 2012
In the autumn of 2012, Your Hand In Mine released the album "The Garden Novels", inspired by travels through English and French countryside, as well as the gardens of the village of Melissochori, located beneath the city of Thessaloniki, where Your Hand In Mine spent countless hours and days. The album title is not metaphorical. All compositions of "The Garden Novels" are accompanied by stories written by the band members. This time, the creative process is reversed compared to their previous album, the soundtrack to the silent film by Mikio Naruse. Instead of embellishing existing images, here the music was born first, and the words came later to decipher the melodies. During the recording of this album, Stroh's violin, trumpet, and the analog synthesizer Persephone joined the constantly growing collection of unusual instruments of Your Hand In Mine.
