Mentallogenic

Debut solo album by Alex Figueira, a Venezuelan-Portuguese producer from Amsterdam. Alex is known as a Vintage Voudou collector, Music With Soul Records founder, and a Fumaça Pret and Conjunto Papa Upa member. Mentallogenic is the musical incarnation of his long-haunted visions of the demons and gods of South America. At some point, Alex's wife told him that at night he was talking to Yurupari, the hero of the Amazonian myths, responsible for the world order and teaching people ancient magic. After that, Alex arranged a kind of exorcism ceremony for himself. He remembers almost nothing about the process, but the album was born after his frantic 9-day retreat in the studio.
