Reissue of the debut album by Edikanfo. In 1981, E.G. Records released the album of a young Ghanaian group of eight people, the final project of Faisal Helwani, a charismatic impresario based at the popular Napoleon Club in Osu, a suburb of Accra, the bustling capital of Ghana. The album gained popularity thanks to the producer, the legendary British musician Brian Eno. At that time, Eno was exploring West African music. He often mentioned his love for Fela Kuti and referred to his own experiments based on rhythm as a search for "the vision of psychedelic Africa." Shortly before the release of the Edikanfo album, Eno was working on “Remain in Light” by The Talking Heads and released an album “My Life in the Bush of Ghosts” with their frontman, David Byrne, which anticipated world fusion. The collaboration between Eno and Edikanfo was another step in this direction.
