Inna De Yard
The Soul Of Jamaica
Chapter Two · 2017
In the early 2000s, the French reggae label Makasound released a series of albums Inna De Yard, recorded in the open air. A group with the same name was created specifically for live performances. However, in 2011, the Makasound label disappeared, along with Inna De Yard. Several years later, the Paris Philharmonic decided to organize an exhibition of Jamaican culture and immediately turned to Chapter Two, the successor label to Makasound, with a proposal to revive the tradition of Inna De Yard. Today, young musicians create in high-tech studios. Inna De Yard calls for a return to basics - to disconnect from technology and enjoy the warm sound of acoustic instruments. This album brings together veterans and still relatively unknown performers of Jamaican reggae. In the summer of 2016, in just 4 days, they recorded the album The Soul Of Jamaica under the open sky.
