The Norwegian Girls' Choir Det Norske Jentekor and pianist Tord Gustavsen present a variety of Christmas songs. The first track is the famous Ukrainian shchedryk arranged by Mykola Leontovych, known worldwide as Carol of the Bells. The album also features several solo improvisations by Gustavsen. Det Norske Jentekor was formed in 1947 and is considered one of the best female choirs in Norway. It consists of around 30 girls aged 10 to 20, as well as a group of former members who participate in album recordings. Tord Gustavsen, who arranged the album, is a Norwegian jazz pianist and composer. He tours extensively worldwide and has led trios, ensembles, and quartets bearing his name at various times.
