Les Ménestriers - a French group that performed a wide repertoire of songs from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The group was formed in 1969 amidst a growing interest in medieval music. In 1971, the group received 4 major awards from the Charles Cros Academy for their first album. By 1972, Les Ménestriers set a new trend for music from the 15th and 16th centuries. The group disbanded in 1980, and no recordings were released under that name thereafter.
